"That yellow strain did not look so threatening." Mariah, Dispatcher.

Just last month, our team was cleaning up the mess of COdA, which required massive quarantine around the Middle East region. It was a textbook procedure, by the numbers execution with the tag team of Shuri and Rachel doing the back end and Samson going the front lines. After some work, we managed to isolate the blue strain which plagued Europe and North America, coded "Smurf Disease", and execute the cure to the letter.

We are on a good roll, and HQ added Token, an operations expert, to our ranks. Incidentally, he happens to be Mariah's cousin, thrice removed.

In the middle of March, something totally unforseen occurred. COdA-403b had mutated, again. This time it became something out of nightmares. For all the b-grade movies we scoff at, COdA mutated into something that gave them a run for their money. The virus made the victims into pale zombies! We called the afflicted "Faded", the first that appeared in Karachi. And the world broke into chaos.

Then in April, we finally managed to isolate the red strain, coded "Pink Tide”. It was then, incident struck our ranks. Mariah and Token were both investigating a mutation of TNBB down in Santiago, when the city and Buenos Aires were over run by the virus. Both team members were found in the thick of it, assisting in the medical efforts of the local hospitals. They were both given medical attention after their rescue, but it seems that the experience had done them more harm below the skin. I gave them a week in restful leave, hoping that their spirit would recover and return stronger than before.

The Middle East is not a friendly neighborhood...

April did us in. Twice. We had underestimated the viruses.

And we were doing so well in March.

And the viruses as of April.
